(This message was originally posted to the FRAC email list.) To: FRAC Email List From: Joan Borel Date: Sat, 16 Nov 2002 08:40:37 EST Subject: [frac] Estes Valley Dog Park I wanted to send my personal thanks to all the FRAC members for the club's support of our new Dog Park here in Estes Park. The "Leash Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening" of the dog park is today, Saturday at 10 am. Since the club made a contribution to purchase a section of fencing, the Front Range Agility Club will be listed among the major sponsors on a plaque to be installed at the park. Please stop by and enjoy our new dog park next time you visit Estes. It is easy to find on Highway 36 just as you cross the causeway over Lake Estes. There are two fenced areas, one with access to the lake for swimming dogs. We are continuing to request donations for amenities, specifically for agility equipment to be installed in the park. This is comercial grade, permanent agility equipment, modified especially for use by the general public, and guaranteed to be maintenance free for 10 years. You can see it at www.parkstructures.com Tax deductable donations can be sent to: Lion's Club/Estes Valley Dog Park, Bank of Colorado, P.O. Box 2560, Estes Park, CO 80517. Contributions can be earmarked "for agility equipment". This is a great way to promote our sport and share it with dogs and owners who are interested in trying it "just for fun". Once we get the equipment installed (hopefully by next summer), I plan to offer "Introduction to Agility" sessions through the Recreation District. This would meet the needs of many local dog owners who would like to try it out before committing to driving to the valley for more formal classes. I think we will gain lots of new agility adicts and club members from Estes Park! Please be thinking about whether the club wants to hold a Fun Match in Estes again next summer and some possible dates. I will need to submit a request in January if we want to reserve the area where we have held fun matches in the past. Thanks again for your support! Joan, Mom To Two Corgis
